Why this exists
Situational awareness, applied to markets.
In pilots and emergency rooms, situational awareness is the discipline of perceiving what's happening, understanding what it means, and anticipating what comes next — before the situation forces your hand.
Markets deserve the same discipline. Prices are reactions: to news, to positioning, to fear and to relief. Reactional Awareness is a database and a lens for reading those reactions early — the spreads, the primary flows, the quiet distressed signals — so the story is legible before it becomes a headline.
It's built for people who'd rather be early than surprised.

The person behind it
What I've done
I'm Devansh — a New York–based finance professional working at the intersection of markets, data, and the systems that hold them together. I hold a Master's in Finance and Fintech from CUNY Baruch College, and I currently work as a Research Associate and Teaching Assistant at the Howard J. Samuels State and City Policy Center at Baruch's Marxe School of Public and International Affairs.
Before that, I was a Financial Systems Analyst at ApMoSyS, a structured-finance analytics vendor, where I spent my days close to the plumbing of credit — the models, cash flows, and data pipelines behind how deals actually behave. That's where the idea for this site took shape: I kept noticing how much of a market's story is visible in the mechanics long before it reaches the news.
My work runs across Excel, Python, and SQL, and my interests sit in structured finance and credit ratings — the corners of the market where careful reading of the details pays off most. Reactional Awareness is where I put that instinct to work in public.
